What is CBCW?

The Clean Boats, Clean Waters (CBCW) program was introduced by the WWMD in 2013. Through this program volunteers and one paid intern were trained to perform boat and trailer inspections for invasive species, distribute informational brochures and collect and report any new water body infestations.  Moreover, it raised the awareness of the AIS problem to the boaters who enjoy our waters and educated them in measures they should take to prevent AIS spread. Over 200 inspections were completed in 2013 and we expect to continue the program next season.  The program was entirely funded by a grant from the WDNR.
